Oahu Train ride!

On Sunday, Te'o, Cheyenne, Mommy and Daddy went on the historic Oahu train in Ewa Beach. It only runs on Sundays now for leisure rides. It once transported sugar to the docks of Wainae until cars were invented and the train wasn't needed. Te'o enjoyed the short ride to Wainae with all the horns and onlookers too! :)

Standing in front of one of the trains.

During the ride, enjoying a Capri-sun like his cousin.

Waving to onlookers

Pulling the horn! :)

On the train. FYI, did you know how the Shaka hand symbol started? A man who worked in the sugar cane mills lost three fingers during a mill accident, leaving only his thumb and pinky. After the accident, he started pulling security for the sugar trains. At the stops, kids would try to steal sugar canes from the train; The man would wave his two-fingered hand at the children telling them to stop but the children thought he was being friendly. And the hand symbol spread through the island.
